Danny Avdia held a partial training session: “The Wizards have high hopes”

by time news

Dani Avdia is still trying to recover from the groin injury he played with in the last Eurobasket. The star of the Israel national team has returned to Washington, but in the meantime, he is still not fully training with his fellow Wizards. Last night (Sunday) he worked, among other things, on an exercise bike, in an attempt to restore him to full fitness before the start of the NBA season.

“I feel that the doctors and the fitness trainers are doing the best to get me back on the floor as quickly as possible, and I trust them,” Abdia said.

“The Wizards have high hopes for Avdia, in his third NBA season,” the United States wrote. “He should compete for a place in the top five and will try to continue the momentum from the end of the previous season. Whether he starts or not, Avdia will be a key player, especially in defense. In EuroBasket he had a big offensive role, and maybe that will prepare him to accept more responsibility as a playmaker in Washington.”

In four days, the Wizards will play their first preseason game, against Golden State in Japan, and Avdia’s fitness level is still unclear.
