/ The Iraqi Football Association revealed on Wednesday that its president, Adnan Darjal, had agreed with the designer of Real Madrid’s modern Santiago Bernabeu stadium to establish a similar stadium in Iraq.

This came during a meeting between Darajal and the designer of Real Madrid Stadium (in its modern form), in the Saudi city of Jeddah, on the sidelines of the World Football Summit for sports industry leaders and visionaries.

Regarding the details of the agreement, the union member, Firas Bahr Al-Ulum, who accompanied Darjal on the trip to Jeddah, said, “The visit to Saudi Arabia was to serve and develop Iraqi football and bring it back to the forefront again by keeping pace with the development taking place in the countries that preceded Iraq in the game.”

Bahr Al-Uloom added during his interview with Shafak News Agency, “The most prominent meetings were with the designer of the modern Real Madrid stadium and the agreement with him to come to Iraq with the company implementing the stadium in order to hold a tripartite meeting that brings together (the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Football Association and the implementing company) in order to build a stadium similar to the Real Madrid stadium in Iraq.”

He explained that “the agreement was reached on many issues, especially those related to the construction of stadiums and how to manage and invest in them, similar to what happens in advanced countries in the field of football.”

He confirmed that the agreement was reached with the manufacturer of the smart shoe to “import it to Iraq,” which is a shoe designed with the latest scientific technologies and which works by digital calculation and everything the player does on the field during play.

Bahr Al-Ulum pointed out that “the shoe is of high quality technology, and it was agreed to bring it into Iraq according to a joint agreement between the Iraqi Federation and the implementing company.”

On the sidelines of the conference in Jeddah, the Iraqi delegation met with the head of Media Pro, the television broadcasting company that broadcasts the Spanish League, and an agreement was reached with them to establish a mechanism for broadcasting the Iraqi League matches and the national team matches according to the latest developments in the media arena,” according to Bahr Al-Uloom.
