Gérald Darmanin asked prefects and security officials on Tuesday evening for great “vigilance” around places of Christian worship during the feast of All Saints and the commemoration of the deceased. In a telegram of which Agence France-Presse was aware, the Minister of the Interior recalls “the very high level of the terrorist threat” and the “persistence of tensions at the international level (which) require the maintenance of extreme vigilance in particular with regard to demonstrations and places of a religious nature.”

He asks the prefects and those responsible for the police and gendarmerie to pay attention, in view of the feast of All Saints’ Day (November 1) and that of the deceased (November 2), to the security of offices and gatherings. which take place during this period, as well as that of cemeteries, whose attendance is increased.

Gérald Darmanin ends his message with a handwritten note where he thanks them for their “mobilization in these troubled times because the French need the firmness and protection of the Republic”.
