Aran Aum Pannu is a film about the bravery of women. Rani’s is the main story of the anthology film about three women who bravely face the emotions of sex. Directed by Ashiq Abu, Rani starred Darshan Rajendran and Roshan Mathew in lead roles. The last scenes of the film were very controversial.
Darshan opens up about the shooting of that scene. Darshan Rajendran says that for him body is a tool for acting. Darshan’s response was to reporter T.V.

Darshan says that ‘Aanum Pennuum’ was a time when she felt very proud that she was a girl in the Malayalam industry who did not feel any tension. Darshana explains that it was the theater experience that taught him all this. The actor also says that his theater experience has made him so bold.

‘Theatre has molded me in every way. I learned what I am today from the theater. It was only after acting in the theater that he started seeing the body, mind and voice as tools for acting. When I did ‘Aan Aum Annu’, I had no idea how to shoot those sequences in the forest. I had complete faith in the makers of that film. When I read the story, I found it interesting. I thought about how to shoot but I didn’t ask Ashiq Abu or Shaiju Khalid about it. Neither was asked or discussed about the shooting plan. Those scenes in the forest felt like scenes from college to me.

I was very comfortable. This is my job as an actor. But not everyone is the same in the world. It didn’t seem like a big deal at the time because of the professionalism. It was theater that gave me the confidence to do this and realized that my body was just a tool for acting. The space was like that when the theater was done. Sometimes there is no special place to change clothes and get ready. Sometimes changing clothes from the stage itself. Having gone through such experiences, I do not take this as an issue. Maybe because I got to the point where acting is important and nothing else, I became comfortable in that space as well. To be frank, it was very liberating for me. It was a time when I felt very proud that I was a girl in the Malayalam industry who did not feel any tension, male or female,’ said Darshana Rajendran.
