The Bangalore court has rejected the petition of Kannada film actor Darshan Thugudeepa, in which he had demanded home-cooked food for himself in jail. This means that now Darshan will not get home-cooked food in jail. Darshan Thugudeepa has been in jail since June 11 on the charge of murdering fan Renukaswami for 33 years. The Bangalore court not only refused to give home-cooked food to Darshan, but also refused to give him other facilities. During the hearing in the court, Darshan Thugudeepa’s lawyer had argued that he is an actor and hence he needs a healthy diet so that he can maintain his body and lifestyle is right. The lawyer had argued that the food being provided in the jail has caused food poisoning and diarrhea to Darshan Thugudeepa.

According to the report of ‘Dainik Bhaskar’, on this argument of Darshan’s lawyer, Special Public Prosecutor P Prasanna Kumar said that Darshan Thugudipa should not be given any special treatment in jail. Later, the court, while giving the verdict after the hearing, refused to grant Darshan Thugudipa’s demand of home-made food and other special facilities and rejected the petition. The court said that Darshan will get the same food in the court as is given to other prisoners.

Darshan Thoogudeepa is accused of kidnapping his fan Renukaswamy along with his friends and taking him to a warehouse and first torturing and then killing him. Darshan Thoogudeepa was in a relationship with actress Pavitra Gowda and this was revealed a few months ago. The investigation conducted by the police so far revealed that Renukaswamy did not like the relationship between Darshan and Pavitra. He was asking the actress to stay away from Darshan Thoogudeepa.
