New Delhi: Nirav Modi and his cousin Mehul Choksi, a diamond dealer in Punjab National Bank, fled abroad in 2018 after embezzling Rs 13,500 crore. Nirav Modi is currently lodged in London Jail and Mehul Choksi is lodged in Dominica Jail.

The Immocity case is being actively investigated by the Enforcement Department. In this case, the enforcement department has filed a new chargesheet in this case.

New York House

Enforcement agencies said in the indictment that Mehul Choksi’s daughter – in – law’s house in New York and Mehul Choksi’s shares in a Japanese company were frozen.

Michael Choksi bought a house in New York in 2010 for Rs 5.72 crore. He transferred the house in 2015 to a company owned by his daughter-in-law without receiving any money.

Mehul Choksi owns 22.6 percent of GSTV in Japan. Its value is Rs 11 crore. Enforcement has frozen these assets.

Punjab National Bank

According to the Enforcement Department, Mehul Choksi’s wife Priti Choksi played a key role in the Punjab National Bank scam and was a beneficiary of the scam.
