The International Football Federation (FIFA) has named Arena Foods Catering the winner of the tender for catering for spectators at stadiums during the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia, FIFA reported.

“Arena Foods Catering” belongs to the “Shokoladnitsa” group and is one of the largest catering chains in Russia. This company has exclusive rights to organize catering at the FC Spartak stadium “Otkrytie Arena”, where matches will be held in 2018.

In addition to the “daughter” of “Shokoladnitsa”, 15 companies fought for the right to organize meals for fans, FIFA reported.

This project will be one of the most difficult in the field of catering in Russia and Eastern Europe, FIFA noted: it is planned to organize more than 2,200 points of sale at 12 points of events. This will create about 8,000 jobs for the 2018 World Cup and up to 3,000 for the 2017 Confederations Cup.

“We are looking forward to working with FIFA and the Russian organizing committee to use our experience, scale and knowledge and offer fans a carefully designed menu,” said Vlad Reutov, CEO of Arena Foods Catering (quoted in the message).

The tender procedure was aimed at selecting a service provider who would be able to provide high-quality products of world and national cuisine at all venues, FIFA specified. “The menu will be aimed at international audiences, but it will also include typical Russian dishes, such as kulebyaka, a traditional Russian pie,” the message says.
