Dave Grohl announced that he has become a father to a girl, who was born out of wedlock.

The 55-year-old frontman of the Foo Fighters and former drummer of the legendary Nirvana, Dave Grohl has suddenly become headline news not for a new concert or tour, but for his personal life.
In a post on his personal Instagram account on Tuesday, he announced that he has become a father from an extramarital relationship and as he emphasizes, he intends to be a “loving and supportive parent” to his new daughter.
Grohl already has three daughters with his wife Jordyn Blum, and as he clarified in his announcement, he loves his family and will do whatever he can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. “I recently became a father to a daughter, who was born out of wedlock. I intend to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” he noted.
Dave Grohl has been married to his wife since 2003 and they have three daughters together: 18-year-old Violet, 15-year-old Harper, and 10-year-old Ophelia.
In the past, he was married to photographer Jennifer Youngblood from 1994 to 1997 and is said to have admitted that infidelity led to their divorce.
Grohl had relationships with musicians Louise Post (founding member of Veruca Salt) and Jennifer Finch (from the punk rock band L7). The ex-wife Jennifer stated that it took her a long time to get over the pain of their separation, while Dave is reported to have left Louise in 1997, as he chose to date Hollywood star Winona Ryder.

Regarding the comments under the news posts on social media, they mainly come from users questioning how one can say in the same sentence that you love your wife and family while simultaneously admitting to having an extramarital affair and a child. The rockers provide a damning response, proudly stated by Jon Bon Jovi in the Independent: “These are all the wonderful clichés of the rock star. The issue is to never lie that you were a saint, but also not to be so foolish as to ruin your family life“(!).

We mostly know about Grohl’s… family life from his wonderful daughter Violet, who appeared in 2021 alongside her famous rocker dad singing an amazing cover of “Take the Box” by Amy Winehouse.
The cover was part of the “Hanukkah Sessions” where Dave Grohl and producer Greg Kurstin collaborated to cover eight songs by Jewish artists in honor of the Hanukkah festival.
Grohn sat at the drums, with Kurstin on piano, as 15-year-old Violet sang showcasing her talent.
“My daughter Violet is the most talented musician this family has ever known,” Grohl had said. “She has an incredible memory, a musical memory. She can pick up an instrument and learn it within a week.” The two have collaborated before, and the young singer has “followed” the Foo Fighters on tour.
Grohl also spoke with Carson Daly on TODAY saying: “My kids inspire me and it’s that love, that when I go on tour, makes me want to play music even more“.
