On November 26 will be released “Toy”, the album by David Bowie that was shelved in 2001, which due to problems with his record company

Twenty years later, “Toy” will be released for its first official release as part of the late singer’s latest catalog reprint campaign. The record is a mix of new songs and re-recordings of lesser known 1964-71 songs.

“Toy” was recorded live in the studio shortly after Bowie’s performance at Glastonbury in 2000. Bowie planned to release it by surprise almost immediately, but the record company (EMI / Virgin) had blocked the release at the time.

The song is already available on the Net “You’ve Got a Habit of Leaving”, reinterpretation of a song published in 1965 together with the Lower Thirds, a group in which he played under his real name David Jones.

The “Toy” box set will contain alternative versions, proposed B sides and the “Tibetan version” of “Silly Boy Blue” recorded in 2001 with Philip Glass on piano and Moby on guitar. A third disc will include “Unplugged & Somewhat Slightly Electric”, a 13-track mix of ” Toy ”.
