The only candidate in the running, the LR mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard, was re-elected on Wednesday for a second term at the head of the Association of Mayors of France (AMF), with nearly 92% of the votes cast.

The outgoing president collected 8,084 of the 8,799 ballots counted, i.e. a participation rate of just over 25%, the AMF said in a press release.

If the vote was less mobilized than in 2021, the result is logically less close since no competitor would compete against David Lisnard, assured from the start of being reappointed for a second term.

His unique list of “unity and independence of the AMF”, presented in tandem with his vice-president André Laignel, the unwavering mayor of Issoudun (Indre), garnered even wider support with 8,201 votes. , or more than 93% of the votes.

Thus “brought together and reinforced in its unity”, the AMF ensures that it “remains fully mobilized and will continue to act in the interest of all the municipalities and intercommunalities of France”.
