Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti also among the Azzurri squads for the Davis Cup Finals scheduled for November 25 with the group stage. Italy will be on stage at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, the other venues are Innsbruck and Madrid: they will be played everywhere on indoor hard courts until November 28, with the quarter-finals starting from the following day. Captain Filippo Volandri has summoned Matteo Berrettini (number 7 Atp), Sinner (number 11 Atp), Lorenzo Sonego (number 23 Atp), Fabio Fognini (number 36 Atp) and Musetti (number 67 Atp). For Next Gen Sinner and Musetti this is the first call-up to the national team for the Davis Cup.
Italy was drawn in group E in the company of the United States and Colombia. The calendar made official by the ITF foresees for the blues the debut on Friday 26 November, at 4 pm, against the stars and stripes team. The matches include two singles (the numbers 2 and the numbers 1 of the nations collide) and the double. The next day, Saturday 27 November, again at 4 pm, the match against Colombia. On the last day, Sunday 28 November, again at 4 pm, the group of Italy will be completed with the match between the USA and Colombia. The winner of this group will face in the quarter-finals, on Monday 29 November, again in Turin, the first classified of group D – with Australia, Croatia and Hungary – also hosted at Pala Alpitour.
