The Independent/- Ali Qassem Al-Kaabi/..The Governor of Maysan, Ali Dawai, laid the foundation for a payment line project to divert wastewater from the Batira treatment plant to drainage leading to the Dimah depression west of Amarah.
In his opening speech, the governor said: The project is the implementation of a polyethylene payment line with a diameter of (800) mm and a length of (22) km. It contains (10) submersible pumps with a discharge capacity of (1250) m3 each. These pumps transport treated water from the station. The project was also equipped with an electric transformer with a capacity of (1) megabyte, and a bridge crossing for the project that crosses the pipe over the Al-Batira River, with a discharge capacity of more than (100) thousand cubic meters.
He added: The project aims to convert the Al-Batira water treatment unit, which treats the sewage water of the right side of the city of Amarah, into a large wastewater that leads to a low-density marsh. Solving an environmental and health problem in the areas of the Al-Batira River and preventing pollution of the river’s running water due to water scarcity
