The Dax rose on Friday. The leading index closed 0.54 percent higher at 15,881.66 points. On a weekly basis, he fought for an increase of almost half a percent. Before the weekend, the Dax was driven by gains in the index heavyweight SAP and encouraging economic data. The MDax of medium-sized stock market stocks ended up 0.02 percent lower at 27,742.32 points.

SAP shares rose 5.2 percent. With a view to the quarterly balance sheet of the software group, analysts criticized that the high-growth cloud business had fallen somewhat short of expectations. But they praised the order development.

Papers from Mercedes-Benz increased by 1.4 percent. Bank JP Morgan commented on the quarterly figures published the previous evening that they illustrated the automaker’s great pricing power and, consequently, its profitability.

In the MDax, Kion and Jungheinrich were the biggest losers with minus 3.9 and minus 2.3 percent respectively. The two companies specializing in storage technology and supply chains are considered to be particularly dependent on the economy and suffered from the meager industrial mood in the euro zone.

The EuroStoxx 50, the leading index in the euro zone, closed 0.54 percent higher at 4408.59 points. France’s Cac 40 rose half a percent, while Britain’s FTSE 100 edged up only slightly. In New York, the Dow Jones was hardly moving at the European close.

After trading that was very volatile, the euro was last little changed at $ 1.0971. The European Central Bank set the reference rate at $1.0978. On the bond market, the current yield fell to 2.48 percent from 2.52 percent the previous day. The Rex pension index rose by 0.2 percent to 125.36 points. The Bund future lost 0.32 percent to 133.68 points. (dpa)
