Dayabai lost a bag containing diary and money during the hunger strike; ‘I didn’t file a complaint because the organizers told me to’

Thiruvananthapuram: While on hunger strike in front of the secretariat, a social activist has claimed that her bag containing diary, money and some other documents was stolen from the strike panthal.

Dayabai also alleged that the bag was lost when the police shifted him to the hospital during the hunger strike.

Dayabai said that the bag was lost on October 12 last and she did not file a complaint because the organizers told her to. She stated that the bag containing the money was in the Samara Panthal when the police took her to the hospital.

They say that they have lost around Rs. 70,000. She also responded to the media that the missing money was included in the amount collected for the construction of a center for endosulfan patients in Kasargote and a house for herself. The prize money including Rs 50,000 was lost.

Dayabai said that the lost documents should be recovered more than the money, and the diary containing the phone numbers of many people was lost and it was worth more than his life.

She responded that the police who shifted her to the hospital had the responsibility of protecting her belongings and that she did not even have the money to pay for the hospital when she left.

On October 12, the police arrived and shifted Dayabai from Samarapanthal to the hospital.

Dayabai started a hunger strike in front of the secretariat demanding that the health problems of Kasaragod district and the problems of endosulfan sufferers be solved.

She had earlier responded to the media that she had a bad experience from the police side during the strike.
