From the first to the fourth of April, the Days of Culture of Belarus are held in Azerbaijan. As part of the Days of Culture, the opening of the Days of Belarusian Cinema took place at the Nizami Cinema Center in Baku, Day.Az reported on Monday with reference to Trend Life.

The event was attended by representatives of the Belarusian Embassy in Azerbaijan, famous domestic filmmakers, cultural and artistic figures.

At the opening, Acting General Director of the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Orkhan Fikretoglu noted that holding the Days of Belarusian Culture in Azerbaijan is a significant event.

According to him, films will be shown within the framework of the Days of Belarusian Cinema, through which the Azerbaijani viewer will become more familiar with the culture and traditions of Belarus.

In his speech, General Director of the Belarusfilm film studio Yuri Alexey spoke about the program of the Days of Belarusian Cinema. He noted that during the visit of the Belarusian delegation to the Azerbaijani side, a discussion took place on holding the Days of Azerbaijani Cinema in Belarus.

“I am confident that through cinema we will strengthen the friendship between our countries and bring great benefit to our two fraternal peoples,” Yuri Alexey emphasized.

Next, Alexander Efremov’s film “Waiting List…” was presented, telling about the fate of cardiologists, their complex profession, difficult relationships in the profession and family.

It should be noted that as part of the Days of Belarusian Cinema, on April 2 at 16:00 at the Nizami Cinema Center there will be a screening of Yevgeny Setko’s documentary film “Perezvon”, which tells about the burned Belarusian villages during the Great Patriotic War.

And at 19:00 there will be a screening of Ivan Pavlov’s feature film “Undermining” – a drama about the heroism of volunteers in Belarus liberated from the Nazis.

On April 3 at 19.00 at the Nizami Cinema Center, Igor Byshnev’s documentary film “The Country of the Saved Giant” will be presented to the attention of viewers, which tells the story of the long, painstaking work to revive the species of the Belarusian bison.
