A delegation of 35 members of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) is going to Vietnam tomorrow Sunday (August 4). Besides increasing the export of Bangladeshi products in the market of that country, the delegation is going on this trip with the aim of attracting Vietnamese investment in Bangladesh and above all to strengthen economic diplomacy.

On Saturday (August 3), DCCI said, the visit will open new doors to expand Bangladesh’s export market in Vietnam, attract investment in Vietnam as well as increase our business activities in other ASEAN countries.

During the visit, the trade delegation of Dhaka Chamber will meet the representatives of the Ministry of Investment and Trade of Vietnam. The delegation of DCCI will also participate in Vietnam Investment and Trade Promotion Center, Chamber of Commerce France-Vietnam, Vietnam-Bangladesh Business Forum. Besides, Bangladeshi entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to expand bilateral trade and investment by participating in business matchmaking sessions in Vietnam’s Thai Binh Province and Ho-Chi-Minh City. The DCCI trade delegation will also visit Vietnam’s industrial park and seaport in Ho-Chi-Minh City.

In the fiscal year 2022-23, Bangladesh’s trade with Vietnam was USD 1.10 billion, while Bangladesh’s import and export were USD 1.01 billion and USD 96.22 million, respectively. One of the objectives of this visit is to prepare necessary preparations for market expansion of Bangladeshi products in other countries belonging to Aishan, verify feasibility and develop relations between private sector representatives of the two countries.

Under the leadership of DCCI President Ashraf Ahmed, the trade delegation includes the country’s renowned businessmen from the financial sector, agriculture and food processing, tourism, health care, chemical, ceramic, information technology, logistics and import-export sectors. The delegation will return to the country on August 9.
