«We are those of the famous “I know” by Pasolini. We line up the facts in a coherent and credible way. The new issue of «la Lettura», #606, Sunday 9 on newsstands and in the App, opens with a dialogue between Maurizio de Giovanni and Carlo Lucarelli. In the conversation edited by Severino Colombo, the two noir authors talk about the mysteries of Italy between literature and news, reality and fiction. They discuss the meaning of the spy story (a genre that enjoys excellent health) in a country, ours, marked by secret plots and collective traumas. Six more pages on thrillers follow. Among the contents, a text by Emanuele Trevi on Libra by Don DeLillo: the 1988 novel is the second volume (on newsstands from July 12) of the «Americana» series, edited by Sandro Veronesi for the «Corriere».

On the six pages also the thrillers of the moment. Like The Season of the Furies by De Bellis & Fiorillo (Einaudi Stile libero, from 11 July). The thriller set in ancient Rome is reviewed by Annachiara Sacchi.

The Theme of the Day, a digital-only extra to the supplement, is Sunday 9 by Giovanni Caprara and is dedicated to museums for exploring the wonders of science from Milan to Naples, from Florence to Bracciano; the new issue of «la Lettura» talks about ten years of Muse, the Science Museum of Trento. The author of The Color Purple is critical: «The movement has failed. The US hasn’t changed.” And a text by the writer Igiaba Scego is dedicated to novels that tell the story of America’s scars.

Instead, five centuries have passed since the death (October 16, 1523) of Luca Signorelli. An exhibition in Cortona and a series of itineraries between Tuscany and Umbria, of which Stefano Bucci writes, are dedicated to the Renaissance master of painted bodies. The insert closes with an interview by Cecilia Bressanelli with Marco Bellocchio. After the successes of Interno notte and Rapito, the director is preparing for the new edition of his festival in Bobbio, in the Piacenza area. And he reflects on films and cinemas, seriality and tradition.
