A video recorded by an unknown person on the New York set of Robert De Niro addressing a crowd went viral on social media on Wednesday, May 1. Many of the world’s media reported that the video showed the 80-year-old actor, who had previously shown an interest in Israel, addressing pro-Palestinian protesters.

However, the actor’s rep denied the claims, Variety reported.

In the video, titled “Robert De Niro stands up for Israel,” the actor, surrounded by a film crew, addresses the people in front of him.

“This is not a movie. This is reality. If you are going to continue talking nonsense, it’s time for you to go home,” said the Hollywood star.

In his speech, De Niro also mentioned the potential danger and people “going to do it again,” which is something no one in attendance wants to experience. Many associated these words with the attack by Hamas terrorists on Israel on October 7.

However, the famous actor’s representative, Stan Rosenfield, denied any claims that Robert De Niro allegedly shouted at anti-Israel protesters.

“De Niro’s words were completely predetermined in the script. The video is a brief clip from a rehearsal scene from the Netflix series Zero Day, which was filmed on the streets of New York on April 27, where De Niro’s character encounters a group [статистов]”, he said.

Netflix also confirmed that Robert De Niro’s emotional performance is only part of the script and “has nothing to do with demonstrations in response to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.” In the six-part conspiracy thriller Zero Day, the actor plays the role of a former US president who is forced to head a commission to investigate a large-scale cyber attack that could lead to a global crisis.

“Cursor” also reported that the legendary actor Michael Douglas found out that he is a relative of the star actress of Jewish origin.
