The words of Daniele De Rossi about Paulo Dybala have stirred up excitement: “Those who were in England are all players of Roma, then we will see what will happen. In Cagliari (Sunday at 20:45), he may start from the bench as he did in the friendly test against Everton on Saturday.
Dybala’s future is therefore a puzzle. He is not untouchable, and the repeated injuries raise doubts. Francesco Totti also spoke on this topic: “If a player only plays 15 matches a year, as a manager I would think twice. If I have an important goal to achieve and I have one of my most important players playing a third of the matches, I would reflect on that.”
As of today, however, the most plausible scenario seems to be Dybala’s stay. He is not tempted by the Arab option, and there are no other clubs interested. He would consider a transfer to a top league. These were his words in May: “You always have curiosity, and you wonder what you would do in leagues like La Liga and the Premier League, where there are great teams and great players.” The situation needs to be monitored, and anything can happen before August 30. Roma needs to make some transfers, and along with Abraham, Bove, and Smalling, Paulo could also easily end up on the list of departures.
