Dead body of infant eaten by dogs – incident in Yali

Jaffna – The dead body of a young child was recovered from the roadside in Vadamarachi East Vathrayan, where it was eaten by dogs.

On Monday (02) evening, following the information received by the Maruthangeni police, the body of the infant was recovered and a 34-year-old woman was also arrested in connection with the matter.

In this regard, it is revealed that the villagers informed the police that they saw the dead body of a four-day-old baby girl when dogs were eating it.

Woman arrested

The police have stepped up investigations in this regard and have arrested a woman who was staying in a house in the area on the basis of suspicion.

The Maruthangeni police are investigating in this regard.
