Born on June 25, 1929 Syracuse (New York) Carle died at her home in Northampton, Massachusetts at 91, surrounded by her family. His book The little caterpillar corn (which in the original is titled The Very Hungry Caterpillar, in Italy published by Mondadori) story of a caterpillar always hungry and curious about the world, was released in 1969 and since then has kept company with generations of little readers and their parents all over the world.

“At first I didn’t even understand why it was so popular but over time I became convinced: it is a story of hope. “You little caterpillar can grow, spread your wings and fly in the vast world”: I think this has touched a common theme for many readers ».
