Translated in 37 countries, sold 30 million copies, the writer has won numerous international prizes and with the series of “The Seven Sisters” (published in Italy by Giunti) has broken all records. The latest title, The lost sister, released on May 11, is at the top of the best-selling book charts.
The news of the death came from a note from the family, which also reports a sentence from the author who had been fighting a tumor for four years: “Through pain and joy I have learned that every moment in life is important and must be treasured”. Those who frequented her and worked with her recognize her true spirit in these words. «Lucinda – says the family – has touched the lives of all those she has met and of those who have read the pages of her stories. Born in Lisburn, a small town a few kilometers from Belfast, at 14 she had moved to London to study dance and theater. She had made her debut at sixteen, working as an actress mostly at the BBC. The literary turning point happened by chance, at the age of 23 she fell ill with mononucleosis and in convalescence she wrote the first romance novel, published in 1992. It is the lucky beginning of an international production of bestsellers: Riley, a quiet mother of four children in life real, she was very prolific in inventing love intrigues that captivated audiences.
