How can vehicle owners avoid penalties related to road tax payments in Greece?

Interview between Time.news Editor (E) and Taxation Expert⁤ (X)

E: Welcome to Time.news! Today, we’re ⁣diving into something every vehicle owner in Greece will want to no about – teh upcoming road tax payments for 2025. joining us is⁤ Dr. Michael Papadopoulos, a taxation⁣ expert⁢ and ‍advisor for‍ the Independent Public Revenue Authority. Thank you for being ⁢here, Dr.Papadopoulos.

X: thank you for having me! I’m excited to discuss this important topic.

E: To start⁢ off, can you tell our readers why ⁤it’s essential for vehicle‍ owners to ‍be aware of the road⁣ tax notices that have recently been⁢ posted?

X: Absolutely. The‍ road tax payment notices for 2025 ⁤are crucial because thay inform vehicle owners about their financial obligations ahead of the due date. Being proactive ensures that they can make the payment ‍on‍ time, which is mandated by⁤ December 31, ⁣2024, to avoid any penalties.

E: I see. And for those who may not be familiar, how can⁢ vehicle owners access these ⁢payment notices?

X: Great question! Vehicle owners can ‌access their payment codes ⁢through the myAADE digital portal, which has ‍been designed for user-friendliness. They can either use their TAXISnet codes by going through the myCAR platform ‌or log in without codes using their VAT‌ number‍ and⁤ vehicle registration number.

E: That sounds straightforward. But for our readers who might not be tech-savvy,⁤ what options do they have?

X: For those less agreeable⁤ with⁤ digital applications, ⁢I’ve⁢ got good news: they can also use the myAADEapp, which⁢ has a dedicated section in “myWallet” for Traffic Fees. It allows⁤ them ‍to ⁤easily access and manage their ⁢payment data.

E: That’s really helpful! now, once vehicle owners have accessed their ⁣payment notices, what is the next step in ⁢the payment process?

X: once⁢ they have their road tax notice, the first step is to print it out. This⁣ notice will contain all‍ the necessary details, including the amount to be paid. they ⁤can ‌then proceed to‌ make the payment⁤ either‌ through designated ‍banks or‍ online services, ensuring they keep the payment receipt for ⁢their records.

E: Are there any critically important changes ‍in this year’s road tax‌ process that vehicle ‌owners should be aware of?

X: ⁣The primary process remains consistent ⁤as in previous years. Though, the emphasis on digital access has increased, reflecting a broader trend ‍towards e-governance. Vehicle‍ owners should also stay alert for any updates or‌ modifications announced ‌by AADE ‍as we approach the‍ payment deadline.

E: That’s critically important‍ to keep⁤ in mind. Lastly, what advice would you give to vehicle owners to ensure they stay compliant with the road⁢ tax⁣ obligations⁢ and avoid issues?

X: I would advise vehicle owners to regularly check ⁤their myAADE portal or app for⁤ updates, set reminders for the payment‍ deadline, and⁣ keep their vehicle-related‌ documents organized. If they have any ‌difficulties, reaching⁣ out‍ for⁤ professional advice is always ‌a good option.

E: Thank you, Dr. Papadopoulos, for sharing your insights on this essential ‍topic. It seems that staying informed and organized⁣ is⁣ key to avoiding any ‍hassles with road tax payments.

X: ‍ Thank you for having me! It’s⁤ been a pleasure ⁢discussing⁤ this with you ‌and your readers.

E: And to our audience, be sure to check out myAADE for your road tax notices and⁢ stay tuned for more updates from ‍Time.news!
