Idukki: The MDMA drug was seized from a youth who booked a room at a lodge in Kumily after reaching the Parunthumpara tourist center. Sandra (20) from Kodungallur and Shebin Mathew (34) from Murindapuzha, Idukki were arrested with MDMA. 0.06 g MDMA was recovered from them. The two were arrested by Vandiperiyar Excise (Kerala Excise) from Kumily. The accused, who were produced in the Peermede court, were remanded.

The couple arrived at the High Range Residency in Kumily town on Wednesday night. The excise team reached the room where they were staying on Thursday afternoon and found the drugs. Sandra, who has completed a paramedical course, befriended the chef via Instagram. Shefin runs a small resort in Thekkady. Sandra told the excise team that the drugs were given by a relative in Gujarat. Excise is checking whether this is correct.
