According to the publication, the surfer was on his surfboard at “Smith Point” beach, when a shark about 20 meters high, bit his leg around 7:30 in the morning. Sapolk County Director Steve Balloon said during a news conference that the shark left a 4-inch wound in the surfer’s leg.

“This man was knocked down from the surfboard,” Balloon said in detail of the incident, saying he “saw the shark return towards it after the initial bite occurred and then at that moment, fortunately, a wave hit carrying the surfer to shore and that was the last contact with the shark”.
