DOES DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE HAVE POST-CREDIT SCENES?

Following the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters in Peru and around the world, it can be confirmed that the film does indeed have post-credit scenes after the end of the film.

HOW MANY POST-CREDIT SCENES DOES DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE HAVE?

The Deadpool & Wolverine movie has two post-credit scenes. The first scene is a tribute to the X-Men movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it shows previously unseen footage from behind the scenes and filming of all the mutant films released so far.

The second post-credit scene, which appears after the final credits, is more revealing but is not connected to or contributes to the future of the MCU. The explanation contains spoilers and is found in the following paragraph.

EXPLANATION OF POST-CREDIT SCENE

At the beginning of the film, Casandra Nova ‘skins’ “Johnny” Storm from the MCU, played by Chris Evans, in his return to the superhero franchise. However, what motivated Charles Xavier’s sister to take this decision were the excuses given by Deadpool, who stated that the member of the Fantastic Four had hurled several insults at her.

Storm completely denied Deadpool’s version, stating that she had never spoken ill of her, yet she could not save herself from Nova’s fury, who ends his life by ripping off his skin.

The post-credit scene shows Deadpool inside the TVA revealing a recording of Johnny Storm with the aim of ‘cleaning up his image’. The video exposes the character portrayed by Evans stating every insult he denied having said, in front of Cassandra. In this way, Deadpool is cleared of the ‘Human Torch’ death before his audience.

Revisiting Iconic Characters

The return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine signifies a growing trend of Marvel revisiting beloved characters through crossovers and multiverse concepts. This popularity could lead to more team-up films that delve into character dynamics and legacy, allowing for a richer exploration of familiar heroes and villains.

Cinematic Homages and Easter Eggs

Deadpool & Wolverine pays tribute to the X-Men film franchise, showcasing behind-the-scenes footage that celebrates its legacy. Such homages are likely to become a more common feature in future films, fostering a deeper connection with long-time fans while enticing new viewers through nostalgia.

The Role of Post-Credits Scenes

The increasing significance of post-credits scenes in Marvel films emphasizes the franchise’s commitment to expanding narrative horizons. With Deadpool & Wolverine featuring two notable scenes that tease future plots, this trend may lead to more intricate storytelling, threading together various character arcs and setting up future films with compelling hooks.

Dark Humor and Mature Themes

Deadpool’s signature humor and adult themes are becoming more prominent within the MCU. As audiences grow accustomed to this tone, it opens the door for stories that tackle complex themes with levity, making the superhero genre more accessible to diverse demographics.

Focus on Character Development

With ensemble casts like that of Deadpool & Wolverine, there is a clear shift toward deepening character arcs. Future films may prioritize character-driven storytelling that gives audiences a chance to connect with the heroes on a personal level, moving beyond conventional action sequences.

Director and Writer Collaborations

As filmmakers cultivate unique styles that align with audience expectations, we can expect innovative narratives that push the boundaries of traditional superhero storytelling.
