On July 7, the Russian Automobile Dealers Association (RoAD) turned to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a request to postpone the indexation of the recycling fee for cars. This is stated in a letter from the association addressed to the head of government, which was reviewed by Vedomosti.
The Government Decree on the indexation of scrap on cars from August 1, 2023 was published on July 7. It will apply to both new and used vehicles. According to the document, the tax rate for passenger cars will be increased on average by 1.7-3.7 times depending on the engine size, for LCV – by 2.5-3.4 times, for trucks – by 1.7 times, explained in the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The fee for buses, according to the agency, will increase on average by 2.2-4.8 times, for electric buses – by 8.7 times.
