Dealing with war remnants in Tajoura

The Criminal Investigation Department confirmed that “the Security Inspection and Explosives Disposal Office team dealt with war remnants in the Tajoura area.”

The agency explained in a statement, “Following a report received from the agency’s room yesterday, Monday, about an explosion at the Shaheed Sabria camp in the Tajoura area, the Security Inspection and Explosives Dismantling Office team affiliated with the Technical Affairs Department of the Criminal Investigation Agency moved to the location of the report.”

He added, “Upon the team’s arrival, they opened a safe path from the main entrance to the vicinity of the explosion site, and began the initial non-technical survey operations, where they found various types of war remnants.”

The agency indicated that “these remnants consist of (213) anti-personnel plastic mines, (241) plastic mine detonators, the front part of an unexploded (SPG) missile, a (122) mm artillery shell, and (2) barrels of propellant fuel for artillery shells.”

The agency stated that “due to the fire in the place and the high temperature, the team was unable to reach a number of other war remnants due to the danger posed by the matter,” noting that “the collected remnants were transferred to the storage location to be disposed of according to the approved standards and procedures.”

The Criminal Investigation Department confirmed that “the survey and combing operations of the explosion site continue in parallel with the recovery and removal of war remnants.”
