On July 31, 2022, when she no longer spoke much due to her great fatigue, she wanted to congratulate the winning England women’s football team on their lands in the European Championship a few hours earlier. “Your success goes far beyond the trophy you so well deserved. You have all set an example that will inspire girls and women today and for generations to come. I hope you will be as proud of the impact you have had on your sport as of the result you achieved today,” the queen wrote in a statement.
