On Thursday, July 4, the prosecution indicted 21-year-old Nachman Huri of Kiryat Motzkin in the Be’er Sheva District Court for driving without a license while intoxicated and hitting 21-year-old Guy Timor, the Israeli vice-champion in cycling.

The indictment states that Nachman Khoury, despite his young age, has a significant criminal record on the roads. Until recently, he was in prison and already had two cases of driving without a license in Jerusalem and Haifa.

He never obtained an official driver’s license, and the court injunction against obtaining one did not stop him from driving.

It is known that on June 5, Nachman Khoury violated the conditions of his house arrest, set by the Haifa court, by going to a friend’s place in the southern suburbs, where he consumed alcohol and drugs. The next morning, two of the group said they needed to move to another place, and Khoury offered to drive them.

On the road, the accused staged a dangerous race, making many risky maneuvers and not slowing down despite the requests of passengers. During the trip, he almost collided with a minibus with children in it, which was parked on the side of the road. After that, two passengers convinced him to stop and left the car, but Khoury continued his dangerous ride.

During a police chase, Khoury drove through a red light at high speed and hit Gai Timor, who was riding a bicycle. After the collision, he continued driving, leaving the victim lying on the road. The athlete died at the scene.

Earlier, “Cursor” wrote that the parents of the deceased professional cyclist Guy Timor, who was hit by a car on Highway 352, are demanding that the driver, Nachman Khuri from Kiryat Motzkin, be held accountable.
