A 61-year-old man from a minority group, suspected to be a drug dealer, died at the Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv. The man had reportedly swallowed drugs in his possession upon realizing that police detectives were approaching him. The detectives attempted to save him and called for medical assistance, but the man died on arrival at the hospital. An investigation has been launched by the police to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

At the Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, this evening (Sunday) they had to determine the death of a 61-year-old man, a member of minorities known as a drug dealer, who was brought to the medical center after he allegedly swallowed doses of drugs in his possession due to fear that he would be caught by police detectives.

The police stated that “during the activity of the Sarat police station detectives as part of the fight against the scourge of drug trafficking, a suspect on the Hebrew Battalion Street recognized the approach of the detectives towards him and, according to the suspicion, began to swallow the portions that were in his mouth – and as a result began to suffocate.”

According to the police, the detectives performed rescue operations on him and called the MDA forces, who evacuated him to the hospital during resuscitation operations, but had to pronounce him dead when they arrived at the hospital. The police opened an investigation to find out the circumstances of the incident.
