Storm Boris has caused heavy rains and widespread flooding in Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland and Romania since last week.

The official death toll in the Czech Republic has risen to five, with two reported on Wednesday. Another eight people are missing after the floods, the press secretary of the Czech police announced on Wednesday.

The fourth person who died in the Czech Republic is a 70-year-old woman who had been missing since Sunday morning. Her body was found stuck in the fence near her house, which was destroyed by the overflowing river Vidnavkas. The fifth victim in the Czech Republic was announced by Interior Minister Vit Rakušan, without giving further details.

Heavy rain hit the Czech Republic on Friday and Saturday, causing rivers to rise mainly in the north and northeast of the country. The flood waters have now receded, revealing extensive damage.
