The United States of America announced the outbreak of a deadly disease in 12 states at the same time, which caused deaths and dozens of infections.
The US Centers for Disease Control revealed that “listeriosis” or what is known as “listeria” had spread to 12 states at the same time, which caused the death of two people and the transfer of 28 others to the hospital.
The center’s statement indicated that “the actual number of infections with the disease may be higher,” noting that “most of those infected ate meat products, including mortadella and sausages, but so far there is no confirmation that this is actually the cause,” according to the center’s statement.
Earlier in Canada, two people died and nine others were taken to hospital, and it was noted that all of the infected people had consumed soft drinks of plant origin.
“The infection that causes this disease is usually transmitted to the human body by eating foods contaminated with the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria (vegetables and animal products), which causes severe intestinal disorders. It affects the nervous system and can cause meningitis, encephalitis and death. People over the age of 60, pregnant women, newborns and those with weak immunity are considered the most at risk.”
