According to the center, the results of the epidemiological investigation showed that 75 patients were exposed to raw freshwater fish before the onset of symptoms, noting that all the infected people lived in different regions of the Special Administrative Region and that the freshwater fish were purchased which are from 47 different markets in 18 regions The infection is linked to strain ST283.
Finally, local authorities asked residents to wear gloves when handling raw freshwater fish, refrain from eating undercooked fish, and seek immediate medical attention in case of infected wounds or fever.
