Energy Minister’s Claims Rejected by Experts

Lax and Larsson argue that more wind and solar power, combined with controllable power and flexibility from sources like hydropower, pumping power, batteries, and smart control, are needed to support the energy system. They also point out that Sweden has a surplus of electricity at almost all hours of the year.
Furthermore, a new report revealed that right-wing opposition to renewable energy and energy efficiency is hindering the expansion of renewable energy sources. The report found that right-wing municipalities are opposing new wind power projects, delaying the country’s transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.
