“Décadanse”: Patrick Buisson will publish a new book in mid-April

by time news

It is a literary event that is usually kept secret for as long as possible. According to our information, Patrick Buisson will release a new book in mid-April. The political scientist and historian, known to the general public for having been the former occult adviser to Nicolas Sarkozy during part of his presidency, remains influential and read with attention, in particular by all the components of the right, extreme or not. And his books always flow in quantity.

With “Décadanse”, once again published by Albin Michel, the conservative historian continues his politico-historical analysis of the evolution of society for more than half a century, marked according to him by a “collapse of values”. “It is, in a way, the continuation of ‘the End of a world'”, confides a framework of the identity right, who exchanges regularly with him. A sequel to this latest book, published in 2021 (subtitled “It was better before”) in which the essayist looked at the years 1960-1975, marked by the erosion of institutions such as the Church or the traditional family.

“Unofficial consultant of Zemmour”

The darling ideologue of the extreme right, who should release his book when he blows out his 74 candles, continues his work of analysis of the existential crisis that France would experience, according to him. With always an eye on the French political scene, and the ears that willingly lend him those who, in activity, devour his writings and are inspired by his analysis. “Friend” of Éric Zemmour (he had appeared at his side during the presidential campaign, in Sables-d’Olonne where he partly resides), he still exchanges regularly with the leader of the Reconquest party. “He’s an unofficial Zemmour consultant!” slips a party executive of the former journalist. He continues to deliver some analyses, in particular on the electoral battle to come: that of the European elections of 2024.

Anecdote: a source close to the two “friends” claims that they would even have agreed to prevent their respective books (Éric Zemmour is due to release his first post-presidential work in March) from coming out at exactly the same time.
