I am going to start a PhD abroad soon and I would like to ask them to purchase a laptop and peripherals.
I’m going to use a lot of Matlab, LabVIEW and maybe other software. Good speakers, a good microphone would be nice.
In most of my experience I like Lenovo, version T. I currently have a t14 gen2 from work and I am satisfied. Also an old t60 computer from 2006 that still works and is at home.
14 inch screen. They have several generations there. So you should probably focus on the third (gen3) which is the last. But there I don’t understand what is better, T14s or normal? with what processor etc.
I would be happy to have a link with which laptop it is best to ask them to buy along with its upgrades. (and a battery that will last even if I’m in the lab and not plugged in all the time)
In addition, I would appreciate a recommendation for a docking station for it and 2 recommended 24-inch screens on which you can also watch movies. It is important, but it will be possible to sit in front of them for a long time.
(I usually work with two screens)
