The first day of the Test was abandoned due to rain. The Test series is currently tied at 1-1.
In this case, the England Cricket Board has announced that the 3rd Test will continue from today. However, the South African players did not agree to extend the Test match by an additional day. Thus the 3rd day of the 3rd Test will be played on Saturday. It has also been announced that there will be a minute’s silence before the start of the match. As the first day’s play was affected by rain, it was decided that 98 overs would be bowled in the last three days of the Test.
