According to the report of the English newspaper, a decision was taken on the recommendations of the committee in a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister on August 16. The committee gave a briefing to the Prime Minister, where reforms in 5 ministries were told, including Kashmir Affairs. and Gilgit-Baltistan, States and Frontier Regions, Information Technology and Telecommunication, Industries and Production and National Health Services.

According to the press release issued by the Prime Minister House, in the meeting, it has been proposed to merge the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan into State and Frontier Regions, while 28 different departments in 5 ministries are also closed, privatized or these departments has been proposed to be given to federal units, it was also proposed to consolidate 12 institutions within five ministries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the cabinet to send the proposal for approval, while also directing comprehensive planning and implementation. , and to further improve the services for the people, he further said that the government institutions that do not perform in public service and become a burden on the national exchequer should be closed completely, or steps should be taken for privatization.

The Prime Minister, in his statement to the committee, said that he would privately supervise the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, the aim of which is to promote business in the SME sector. To eliminate one and a half lakh vacancies and outsource non-core work like cleaning, janitorial, various posts from grades 1 to 16 will be phased out.

The proposal in the committee also said that recruitment to emergency posts should be banned and the cash balance of the ministries should be monitored by the finance ministry.
