Billings, Mont. – A deck collapse at the Briarwood Country Club in Billings, Montana, has left up to 25 people injured on Saturday evening, according to police reports and news outlets.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the 3400 block of Briarwood Boulevard at around 7:50 p.m., following reports of a collapsed patio. The Billings Police Department confirmed that there were “multiple individuals with injuries,” but thankfully, no fatalities were reported.
Numerous injured individuals were transported to various local hospitals, causing police to shut down roads near the Billings Clinic and St. Vincent Healthcare to ensure smooth access for emergency vehicles. The exact cause of the deck collapse is currently under investigation.
According to KTVQ, up to 25 people were transported to hospitals, while The Billings Gazette reported that the Billings Clinic received six patients, with an additional three expected. Another official from the Billings Clinic stated that a total of 11 victims were admitted. Dr. Clint Seger, CEO of the Billings Clinic, reassured the public that the hospital had a capable team of trauma surgeons, ER physicians, and critical care staff ready to provide the necessary care to the injured individuals.
The Briarwood Country Club, which offers golf, dining, and swimming facilities, has been an established establishment since its opening in 1984.
