When we arrive in the hangar located in Hérouville (Val-d’Oise), he tinkers on a machine to label juice bottles. Even if he has reached retirement age, Pierre Collas does not seem ready to hang up. And yet, the arborist who took over from his parents in 1983 can boast of having already found a buyer for his farm four years ago. At the Collas, it is the son Matthieu, 27, who “naturally” took over at the head of the ten hectares of orchards planted by his grandparents in 1962.
