Mumbai: Indian pacer Deepak Chahar is likely to miss the remaining two matches of the ODI series against South Africa. The injury is a setback for the actor. Chahar injured his ankle during training.

The 30-year-old Chahar has been included in the Indian squad for the Twenty20 World Cup as a reserve player. With Bumrah not playing, Chahar also had a chance to get a place in the starting XI. But it is doubtful whether the player will be able to play further matches due to the injury.

India has been facing a major setback in the bowling department for some time now. In the first ODI against South Africa, Indian bowlers conceded 249 runs in 40 overs. The bowlers also conceded runs well in the last match of the Twenty20 series.

If Chahar does not play, Mukesh Kumar, a right-arm pace bowler, may get a place in the team. Other pace bowlers for the team are Mohammad Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Josh Khan.
