Investigators conclude that Deepu’s Twenty20 activist in East Coast was a political assassin. With the release of the post-mortem report, the collection of evidence intensified. The investigation is being led by the Perumbavoor DySP. The accused will be taken into custody soon.
The FIR of the Kunnathnadu police said that Deepu was harassed due to the political animosity of the CPM. Post-mortem revealed that Deepu had sustained injuries in two places on the back of her skull following the brutal beating. Deepu’s liver disease also accelerated her death.
Zainuddin, a CPM activist, is the first accused while Basheer, Abdul Rahman and Abdul Aziz are the other accused. According to police, Zainuddin grabbed Deepu by the neck, kicked Deepu in the head and the other accused in the head and abdomen. All the accused live near Deepu’s house in Chelakulam. The Perumbavoor DySP said the four would be taken into custody soon. People are watching the moves of the Twenty20 and the CPM, which are at loggerheads over Deepu’s death.
