OPS has said that it will file a defamation case against EPS if EPS continues to make unwarranted allegations.
The EPS had sent a notice to the OPS seeking an explanation against Panneerselvam’s announcements using AIADMK’s party flag, name and coordinator.
Edappadi Palaniswami has been appointed as AIADMK Interim General Secretary and Dindigul Srinivasan as Treasurer in the notice. However, it was stated that O. Panneerselvam has been announcing himself as the treasurer of the party and has been making announcements and appointing executives in the name of the party’s head office.
Further, since the responsibility of the party rests with the EPS, legal clarification was also sought as to how the OPS can function in this way. Apart from that, it was also said that if the OPS continues to engage in such activities, it will face repercussions.
OPS has now sent a notice in response to that notice. In that, EPS is working against the purpose for which AIADMK was started. If they want to remove me from the post of coordinator, it is up to the core members of the party. The General Assembly cannot remove me from office.
Furthermore, OPS has said that it will file a defamation case against EPS if EPS continues to make unnecessary allegations. A party office key case is a civil case. It is not about party control. OPS also said that just because one person has the office key in the party, he cannot claim the right to the party.
