Defeating West Indies, Pakistan reached the final of the World Championship of Legends

(Afzal Bilal) In the first semi-final of the World Championship of Legends, the Pakistan champions defeated the West Indies champions by 20 runs and qualified for the final.

In the first semi-final match of the ongoing World Championship of Legends in the British city of Northamptonshire, the West Indies champions invited the Pakistan champions to bat after winning the toss. Chasing 199 runs, West Indies were all out for 178 runs in 19.5 overs.

Ashley Nurse was the leading batsman for West Indies with 36 runs, Dwayne Smith 26, Chris Gayle 22, Chadwick Walton 19, and Riyad Emmert played a smoky innings of 29. Sohail Khan bowled well for Pakistan. He made 4 catches for 21 runs, apart from them, Wahab Riaz and Shoaib Malik guided 2, 2 players to the pavilion while Sohail Tanveer gave only 17 runs in the allotted 4 overs.

On behalf of the Pakistan champions, captain Younis Khan stood out with 65 runs, Kamran Akmal scored 46 runs, Sohail Tanveer scored 33 runs and Aamir Yameen remained unbeaten with 40 runs. Apart from this, Saeeb Maqsood and Shahid Afridi returned to the pavilion by scoring one run each. Sharjeel Khan, Shoaib Malik and Misbah-ul-Haq continued to walk without opening an account.
