The Third Criminal Court of Santiago declared The two defendants were found guilty of the attempted murder of nurse Pola Álvarez, event that occurred in June 2022 in Las Condes.
Those involved are Enrique Hanson, convicted as the perpetrator, and his ex-partner, Patricia Henríquez, accused of being the mastermind behind the attack.
After learning of the court’s decision, prosecutor Carmen Gloria Guevara said she felt “quite satisfied as a Public Prosecutor’s Office (…) Our request was quite dreamy, It was requested that two people be convicted for a crime that was not flagrant, but that they were detained due to an investigation, and not only that two people be convicted, but that they be convicted for a qualified homicide, clearly in a state of frustrated development.”
“There was a material author, the one who stabbed 11 people, but also an intellectual author who provided the means (…) The court accepted all the requests of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and that is why we are satisfied,” he added, which is why they are asking for a 12-year prison sentence for the former couple.

Pola Alvarez herself told Channel 13’s Tu Día that her attacker “was about three meters inside my passage, when I entered he looked at me and I continued walking. With his right hand he opened the zipper of his jacket, took out his cell phone, passed it to his left side and I could see that he had my photo.”
After reviewing the image, “he takes out a knife that is like a dagger with a black handle (…) the first thing he does with the knife is to bury it in my upper left quadrant, when he took it out he pretended to stab me again and I fell. He pulled my hair to push my head to the side and stabbed me in the chest area, I kicked him, he stabbed me in the leg.”
