Defense Ministry expresses condolences over martyrdom of two officers in Kirkuk bomb explosion

Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Defense – Land Forces Command offered its condolences for the martyrdom of two of its officers as a result of an explosive device explosion while they were performing their duty in the Al-Ghara Mountains area in Kirkuk Governorate.

The ministry said in a statement received by the (INA): “With great sadness and sorrow, we received the news of the martyrdom of the hero, Lieutenant Colonel Laith Mu’ayyad Yassin Al-Hayali, Director of the Intelligence and Security Division of the Eighth Mechanized Infantry Division, and the hero Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Muhammad Amin, Intelligence Officer of the Thirty-Second Mechanized Infantry Brigade, who were martyred this evening, Wednesday, September 4, 2024, as a result of the explosion of an explosive device while they were performing their duty in the Al-Ghara Mountains area.”
She added, “May God have mercy on the martyrs and inspire their families and loved ones with patience and solace. We also ask God Almighty to heal our wounded heroes, for He is the All-Hearing, All-Answering.”
The ministry confirmed that it is “pursuing terrorist criminals to avenge the martyrs.”
