The Electric Company announced today (Monday) a series of reliefs for its customers during wartime, with the approval of the Electric Power Authority and in coordination with the Nega Company for the management of the system.
The company announced that there will be no collection enforcement activities, including disconnections, until the expiration of the declaration of the special situation on the home front, for domestic consumers who have past debts or who are accumulating debts during this period. Also, consumers who have difficulty paying their electricity bills will be able to apply for flexible payment arrangements without interest.
Production, collection and delivery of electricity bills will be delayed for 30 days starting October 7, 2023 for consumers who were evacuated from the settlements in accordance with the directives of the Home Front Command. In order to make it easier for MTM (prepaid meter) consumers, the electric company will provide unlimited emergency codes, which will allow them to continue consuming electricity and pay for it only at the end of the declaration of the special situation in the home country.
The bill payment has been postponed 60 days from the payment deadline for the September-November 2023 bills of historic electricity distributors in the Gaza Strip. The Electric Company was appointed as responsible on behalf of the Chairman of the Electric Authority to carry out all the necessary actions to ensure a continuous supply of electricity within the areas of the historic divisions that requested it.
The Authority will examine on an ongoing basis and in coordination with the Israel Electric Company and take further steps. The Authority recommends following its publications on the Authority’s website, the media and social networks.
