It has been claimed that people trading U.S. stocks through domestic securities firms such as NH Investment & Securities suffered losses due to delays in the cancellation of U.S. stock weekly trading settlements.

According to the financial investment industry on the 6th, among the customers of some securities firms, including NH Investment & Securities, KB Securities, Samsung Securities, and Kiwoom Securities, there were cases where stock trading did not take place even after the regular opening of the U.S. stock market last night.

This stemmed from a request the previous day from domestic securities firms to cancel transactions on the American alternative trading system (ATS) used for weekly trading of U.S. stocks.

On the 5th, Blue Ocean canceled the order execution for the weekly transaction prior to 2:45 PM on the same day due to exceeding the order limit.

In response, most securities firms completed the cancellation processing before the weekly trading (9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and pre-market (5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) before the US market trading.

However, in the mobile trading system (MTS) and home trading system (HTS) of some securities companies, including NH Investment & Securities, Samsung Securities, KB Securities, and Kiwoom Securities, there were cases where stock trading was not conducted even during regular trading hours (10:30 PM to 5:00 AM the next day).

NH Investment & Securities also announced a delay in trading late at night, saying, “The transaction cancellation process is in the final stages,” but “the work is taking time.”

Foreign stock investors are claiming, “Because the cancellation process at the U.S. stock exchange was delayed, trading was blocked during the regular trading session and we suffered losses,” and “Shouldn’t the securities company compensate for the failure to trade due to its negligence?”

In fact, some users of NH Investment & Securities’ MTS Namu Securities have opened an open chat room and are discussing filing complaints with the Financial Supervisory Service and requesting compensation for group damages.
