Some 120 flights and more than 6,000 passengers have been affected so far, after various flights at the Jorge Chávez International Airport were delayed and, in some cases, canceled, aeronautical unions reported.

This situation was reflected in the frustration shown by travelers, who were not able to board their scheduled flights. The problems with the entry of flights began on January 26.

The biggest problem is registered in the area of departures and arrivals with national destination, where a large number of people report that they have been waiting since last night for some official information about what is happening and that apparently it was due to a new provision of Corpac for the entry and exit of aircraft.

Meanwhile, the main aeronautical unions warned that the separation of flights by Corpac generates departure delays, ranging from 30 minutes to three hours. This implies the impact of flights, especially in the cities of Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Jauja and Ilo.

Finally, they indicated that they recognize the work being carried out by the Board of Directors of Corpac, the DGAC, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) and the Government for the safety of air operations and we trust that this line will be made available effectively and quickly corrective measures that prioritize the well-being and needs of all Peruvians who need to fly.
